Step 1: Get User Registration Pro and Social Connect Addon
To add the Google sign-in button to your login forms, we will use the User Registration Pro plugin and the Social Connect add-on, which includes the login feature.
Initially, Get User Registration Pro for your website.
Following the documentation, log in to your WPEverest account and get the zip file and license key for User Registration Pro.
Now that you’ve downloaded the necessary zip files, let’s set up the Google login option.
Step 2: Install User Registration
Open the dashboard on your WordPress website. Then, go to the Plugins > Upload Plugin page.
Upload the User Registration Pro zip file that you previously downloaded. Then, install and activate the plugin.
On the plugin’s page, paste the license key for the plugin and press enter.
Step 3: Add Social Connect Addon
You need the Social Connect add-on to enable Google login on your forms.
So, go to User Registration > Extensions, search Social Connect, and click on Activate.
Step 4: Create Google API Key
Go to Google Developers Console and create a new project to obtain the app ID and app secret key.
Once the project is created, you will be redirected to the dashboard. Navigate to the Credentials tab.
Click on the “Create Credentials” dropdown and choose “OAuth client ID”.
Configure Consent Screen(If required for you). Select the Web application option, enter your redirect URL (the URL of the page where Google will redirect users), and click “Create”.
Ensure that your OAuth Redirect URIs match exactly.
Now, you should have your app ID and app secret key.
Step 5: Use Google API on User Registration
Go to your WordPress dashboard and go to User Registration > Settings > Social Connect and scroll down to the Google section.
There, enable Google using the toggle option and enter the ID and Secret key. Then, click on Save at the bottom.
Step 6: Enable One-Click Login
To add the “Login with Google” option on your registration forms, go to User Registration > Settings > Social Connect and click on Advance Settings.
There enable the option “Display Social Buttons in Registration?”. Then on the settings page, customize as you prefer and click on Save Changes at the bottom.
After that, you have completed login with the Google option on your website. Then, all your registration/login forms will have the social login button at the bottom of the WordPress login page.
